C.A.R.E
‘Care’ (Community Alert For Rapid Evacuation) is a multifunctional device designed specifically for rough sleepers in London. Useful as a waterproof backpack by day, and an inflatable pillow by night, it includes a low-power, radio-based flood alert system to help users off the grid keep their belongings and pets safe on the floating pillow as they find shelter in time.
Care was an inter-disciplinary project with industry guidance and collaborations from London borough City of Westminster, European Union Agency for Asylum, Residencia y Servicios Alcobendas (Spain) and Hogar de Cristo (Chile).
